While the recent rains might have been heavy in some spots, none of those spots was on the Colorado River watershed. The appearance of puddles, full tanks and running creeks do give us hope, because the earth seems to have soaked up all it can and maybe the next rain will yield us the precious runoff waters we need to begin to refill the lake.
The water temp has fallen in response to the cooler days and nights and the seasons are changing. That means only one thing to stripers as they come out of their summer doldrums. TIME TO EAT!
This year could be something unusually special because even though we may have to work harder to get to the boat, finding the fish won't be too hard! With 60% of the lake gone now they literally have nowhere left to hide.
